There is a definite wariness with him from the warnings he's gotten and from Kirei's own, but... it's hard to be wary of him constantly. He got the... strange reactions... moments of Kirei's familiarity with him before he got the warnings. So it was this kind of disconnect between wanting to heed the warnings and wanting to understand Kirei's reactions to him. Learning that Kirei had summoned him in the fifth war has been... difficult to imagine. It has made him more and more determined to understand what happened. He was one of the first servants to die in his version of the fourth war, and not being able to get the information he's wanted from those who were in the war with him is incredibly frustrating for him. The fact that he can get information out of Kirei is nice, even if he realizes it's not all of it. He's slowly learning more though and trying to piece things together.
Learning that Kirei killed his Lancer was shocking. More so was the change in his demeanor when he told him about it. It was... unsettling... and then Diarmuid went to be dere at his master and all was better... Honestly though the teasing from his roommates during the truth event was worse for him. Then there was the dream. MOSTLY THE DREAM WAS JUST WEIRD?!?!!! Then there was the bedroom... a-and while he had some idea that Kirei had been intimate with his servant, seeing it was shocking... aaaaand a little arousing.
So he's mostly still trying to figure out Kirei and he knows that he's not being nearly as cautious with him as he could or should be, but he does want to help Kirei and it's frustrating to be called fragile :T AM NOT!!!!!!!
Kirei also keeps calling him Diarmuid instead of Lancer. He... never thought about it, which is why it keeps taking him so off guard, but only a few people actually call him Diarmuid. Mostly those in AptS in other words people he's pretty intimate with -- who with the exception of Wil, he's been sexually active with. The use of the name is an intimacy that he wasn't expecting. That combined with the hair petting make it pretty easy to top him.
